The investigation into the sexual harassment case against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Chief of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), is currently ongoing, and officials have stated that reports claiming the Delhi Police has not found sufficient evidence are inaccurate.
Previously, the police had stated that they did not have enough evidence to arrest Singh, who has been accused of sexually harassing seven female wrestlers, one of whom is a minor.
However, the Delhi Police clarified on Twitter that news reports suggesting insufficient evidence are incorrect. They emphasized that the investigation is still in progress and being handled with utmost sensitivity.
On Sunday, the wrestlers, who had been protesting at Jantar Mantar since April 23, demanding the arrest of Singh, were removed from the site by the police. They had attempted to march to the new Parliament building during its inauguration. The protesters were detained but later released.
